Established in 2015, the Alf Waugh Indigenous Scholarship was created by a donation from Ellen Waugh.

$6500 scholarship that provides support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with leadership potential and community involvement.

Eligibility Criteria

  • You must:
    – identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as defined in the University of Sydney’s policy
    – be enrolled, or applying for admission into an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program 
    – not previously have completed the requirements for the relevant degree level that you are currently or will enrol in
    – show leadership potential and community involvement
    – demonstrate financial need.

Further Information

This scholarship is valued at $6,500 per annum and is tenable for one year only.
 
Preference will be given to students:
 
– enrolled within the Faculty of Engineering
– from the Northern Territory and/or rural and remote Australia (as defined by the Australian Government)
