ANMC Indigenous Nurse/Midwife Scholarship

This scholarship, introduced in 2016, is made possible by generous donations to the Australian Nurses Memorial Centre. The ANMC recognises the contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurses to the health and well-being of the community.

We are pleased to continue support of our Indigenous Nurse Scholarship for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurses undertaking postgraduate nursing studies at an Australian university or other accredited higher education institution.

Eligibility Criteria

Evidence of current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia is supplied;
Evidence of Australian Citizen status is supplied;
Applicant is of Indigenous Australian heritage;
Level of education activity is Postgraduate;
Education activity is related to contemporary professional practice in nursing or
midwifery;
All sections of the Scholarship Application Form are completed;
Scholarship application is looked upon favourably if accompanied by completed application form and payment to become a member of the ANMC;
An ongoing commitment to professional practice in two or more of the following ways is shown:
Member of a professional nursing association or special interest group.
Contributes to the ongoing development of the team in which they work.
Actively involved in innovations in professional practice.
Recent involvement in research or presentations at conferences.
Makes a significant contribution to community service.
