Avant Foundation First Year Medical Student Bursary

The Avant Foundation’s purpose is to invest in research, education, and leadership programs in order to improve quality, safety and professionalism in medicine. The Avant Foundation delivers this Bursary in partnership with Flinders Adelaide Indigenous Medical Mentoring (FAIMM) and the Australian Indigenous Doctors’ Association (AIDA). The bursary is intended to assist with living or study expenses, related to relocation, or other activities to support study.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must satisfy the following criteria to have their applications considered:
Applicants must be a current AIDA member by the application closing date. Applicants must become an Indigenous Medical Student member of AIDA;
Have a demonstrable commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health as evidenced in the application form responses;
Be enrolled in your first year of an undergraduate or a postgraduate degree in medicine.
