Indigenous Agriculture Initiative Scholarship

The School of Agricultural and Wine Sciences has established an Indigenous Agriculture Initiative that seeks to provide opportunities for Indigenous undergraduate students and postgraduates students interested in agriculture, refer to the Indigenous Agriculture Initiative. Part of this Initiative is to provide an undergraduate scholarship program for Indigenous students considering a career in agriculture. Currently, there are many good employment opportunities in agriculture as well as a need for education and training for Indigenous managed lands. The IAI scholarship provides students with an $8000 (FT equivalent) top-up of their Abstudy entitlement.

Eligibility Criteria

You must be studying:  Associate degree in Farm Production, Bachelor of Agriculture, Bachelor of Agricultural Science, Bachelor of Agricultural Business Management, Bachelor of Animal Science, Bachelor of Horticulture, Bachelor of Viticulture, Bachelor of Veterinary Biology / Bachelor of Veterinary Science or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology.

NOTE:

Recipients who successfully complete their year of study with a GPA of 4.0 and above with continued enrolment in the above courses will be the preferred candidate for the following year’s scholarship.

Scholarship payments will be made as 2x $4,000 instalments over one year.  Second payment is dependent upon continued enrolment in the above courses and  maintaining a GPA of at least 4.0
