Max Schroder Indigenous Mentoring Scholarships

Mr Schroder, studied at Armidale Teachers’ College and gained BA (Honours) and MA degrees from UNE by distance education. His interest in Indigenous students began in the 1960s when he was teaching Aboriginal students in Armidale.

The Max Schroder Indigenous Mentoring Scholarship has been initiated to act in a supporting capacity for the other Max Schroder UNE and Ella Schroder scholarship recipients. Two such scholarships are offered, one each for a female and male mentor.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be:
Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident;
Open to continuing UNE students in their final year of an undergraduate degree or in postgraduate study at UNE;
Academic requirement;
Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander;
Living in college;
The preferred applicant is living or intending to live in a UNE Residential College (excluding St Alberts College).
