Aurora Alumnus becomes top didgeridoo player
Aurora alumnus Chris Williams has become one of the world’s greatest didgeridoo players.
A descendant of the Wakka Wakka people from Queensland, Chris studied a Bachelor of Music, then completed a Graduate Diploma in Music Performance at Griffith University in 2004.
After being awarded the Roberta Sykes Scholarship in 2011, Chris travelled to the United Kingdom to study a Master’s Degree in Classical Trumpet Performance at the Royal College of Music in London.
Since completing his Master’s in 2013, Chris has toured globally with The Hong Kong Sinfonietta and Australian orchestras, while conducting workshops and sharing Australian Indigenous culture.
He is currently an artist in residence with Southern Cross Soloists.
