Stronger Smarter Institute Teachers of STEM Initiative - Indigenous Scholarship Masters
The Teachers of STEM Initiative™ is an innovative initiative focusing on supporting First Nations female tertiary students to secure a STEM qualification as an element of their degree. Developed by The Stronger Smarter Institute, through funding provided by the National Indigenous Australians Agency the Teachers of STEM Initiative provides:
•Support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander women to complete STEM teaching qualifications.
•Professional development opportunities for educators seeking to improve the STEM educational experience of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.
•Support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander women to complete STEM teaching qualifications.
•Professional development opportunities for educators seeking to improve the STEM educational experience of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.
Successful applicants will receive the following:
•Financial scholarship support to help with the costs with studying for undergraduate and post graduate students.
•Mentoring support from First Nation teachers and STEM professionals in both academic and wellbeing.
•Professional development programs with a focus on Indigenous Knowledges STEM.
•Networking and partnership opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this Initiative, you must:
– Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander;
– Be willing to upgrade your existing teaching qualification with an approved STEM course or be prepared to study a Masters of Teaching to support your existing STEM qualification and
– Be committed to transforming Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student education outcomes.
