Adam Hansen is a proud Noongar man from Bunbury Western Australia and has lived and grown up in Sydney and calls the South West of Sydney home. Adam studied a Bachelor of Human Movement with a Diploma of Education at the University of Technology, Sydney and graduated in 2011 and has a Masters in Indigenous Education from Macquarie University. Adam values the power of education and has spent a large amount of time empowering young people to fulfil their potential when it comes to education through the power of mentoring. Having spent 8 years at a not-for-profit organisation working in between High Schools and Universities to help support Indigenous high school students and to help increase the University Admission rates among Indigenous students, people, and communities. Adam is a passionate and committed individual with a background working in the community sector with a specific experience with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Adam has recently completed a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Education and has delivered and facilitated numerous workshops in Aboriginal Cultural Competency over a 10-year period. Adam has vast knowledge in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history and is very engaging in the way he presents and delivers his workshops. Having presented and facilitated Aboriginal cultural workshops over an extended period to a whole range of stakeholders including, the corporate and community sectors, has given Adam the right skills and knowledge needed to be an excellent facilitator. Adam’s passion in closing the gap between First nations Australians and Non-Indigenous Australians is extremely evident in the work that he does and comes across in the workshops and presentations Adam delivers and facilitates.
