Joel’s journey began as an Aboriginal Employment Consultant, where he saw firsthand the challenges faced by fellow Indigenous community members in securing meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities and the barriers they need to overcome. He played a role in bridging the divide between employers and Indigenous job seekers and developed programs and tailored support systems that not only connected job seekers with suitable roles but also empowered them with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in their chosen careers. Recognising the need for greater cultural sensitivity and diversity in the corporate landscape, Joel transitioned into People and Culture. He works on creating diversity training, cultural immersion programs, policies and practices that promote a sense of belonging for all employees.
