Aurora featured in 2023 Close the Gap Report
Aurora Education Foundation’s work with Indigenous high school students has been featured as a case study in the 2023 Close the Gap Report, Strong Culture, Strong Youth: Our Legacy, Our Future. The Report, which was released on 17 March, showcases organisations that work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities to enrich the lives of Indigenous children and youth. It also finds that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations are leading the way in strengthening the health and wellbeing of First Nations communities, and that First Nations’ voices are central to closing the gap.
Aurora’s High School Program is an intensive student-centered support program focused on academic improvements through a cultural lens. It is the only program of its kind that supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families to access educational, wellbeing and cultural opportunities so they realise their academic potential and achieve their aspirations.
