Aboriginal social and emotional wellbeing Scholarship

The Department of Health is partnering with the Victorian Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation (VACCHO) and Deakin University to implement an Aboriginal social and emotional (SEWD) Scholarship Program. The program aims to assist Aboriginal people working in Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing teams to complete further education in clinical and therapeutic mental health qualifications to build Victoria’s Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing workforce.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible you must:
be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person;
be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident;
be currently employed by or intend to work for an ACCO or a mainstream health organisation in a Victorian Aboriginal SEWB (social and emotional wellbeing) team or role;
be a resident of Victoria;
be enrolled in one of the following courses:
Bachelor of Health Sciences, Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Psychological Science, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours), Graduate Certificate of Counselling, Graduate Diploma of Psychological Science, Graduate Diploma of Psychology (Advanced), Graduate Diploma of Counselling, Master of Professional Psychology or Master of Psychology (Clinical).

This scholarship covers 100% of your student contributions (tuition fees).
100% of your Student Services and Amenities fees (SSAF).
Cash payment up to $1250 for each credit point you study each period, to assist you with your out of pocket study expenses.
