Arrow Energy Go Further Indigenous Scholarship- JCU

Through the Arrow Energy Reconciliation Action Plan, Arrow is aiming to build mutually beneficial relationships with Indigenous people and communities in a range of fields including education. As part of this commitment, Arrow is providing tertiary scholarships to support Indigenous students to attend and complete university. Please note this scholarship is valued at $10,000 for fulltime and $5,000 for part time students. This scholarship can be extended as well.

Eligibility Criteria

If all the statements below describe you and your current situation, you can apply for this scholarship:
I am an Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents;
I am enrolled at James Cook University;
I identify as Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander descent.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted on the official application form no later than the date set by the Selection Committee for the year in which the award is to be made.

Applicants must submit with the official form, where appropriate:
A signed Proof of Aboriginality using the Arrow Identity Form;
A written submission of 500 words or less addressing the key selection criteria of community involvement; dedication and drive (e.g. leadership skills), overcoming challenges; and career aspirations; and
Any other supporting documentation that would assist the Selection Committee in developing an opinion as to the merit of the application.

Selection criteria:
Applicants will be assessed on the following key selection criteria:
Academic achievement (30% weighting);
Personal attributes e.g. community involvement, career aspirations, interests, drive, ability to overcome adversity (30% weighting);
Impact of the scholarship (how the scholarship will benefit the student (30% weighting);
Whether the student identifies with one of the Traditional Owner groups to whom Arrow has capacity obligations i.e. Barada Barna, Barunggam, Bigambul, Birri, Cobble Cobble, Emon/ Iman, Jangga, Jarowair/ Yarowair, Kambuwal, Mandandanji, Northern Gomeroi/ Gomeroi, Wiri, Wakka Wakka/ Western Wakka Wakka, Yetimarala (10% weighting). Applicants who don’t identify with one of these groups will receive zero in the criteria.
