Bond University Indigenous Higher Degree by Research Scholarship
Bond University is committed to providing a culturally safe and supportive learning environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students where they can progress and complete a higher degree education program.
This Scholarship includes:
- Stipend for up to three years. The 2025 full-time stipend rate for both scholarship categories will be $33,511 per annum (indexed annually) and;
- Indigenous Scholarship applicants are already entitled to a 100% fee waiver under the Australian Government Research Training Program.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this Scholarship, you must:
- Be an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as defined by ABSTUDY;
- have a valid Bond University Letter of Offer for a PhD program or a Professional Doctorate of Occupational Therapy and;
- be studying your program full-time.
You must not:
- hold a qualification at the same or higher level than the higher degree by research program you are undertaking;
- be receiving a living allowance award, scholarship or salary providing a benefit greater than 75% of the RTP Scholarship living allowance rate and/or;
- be receiving a Commonwealth-funded tuition scholarship.
