Danny and Kathleen Gilbert Indigenous Scholarship in Law
Danny Gilbert AM is a Managing Partner and co-founder of Gilbert + Tobin, one of Australia’s most successful corporate law firms. Gilbert + Tobin provide innovative, relevant and commercial legal solutions to major corporate and Government clients across Australia and internationally, including the Asia-Pacific region. Danny’s skills and experience includes over 30 years in commercial law, specialising in technology and corporate law. Since the mid-1970’s he has had extensive involvement with social justice issues through work with community legal centres, public organisations and the arts. in 1992 he established Gilbert + Tobin Pro Bono practice, which has strong emphasis on indigenous issues.
Danny is committed to making a difference in the community, bringing his expertise to a number of director roles, including roles at the National Australia Bank and Chair of the National Museum of Australia. He is the Chair of the University’s Foundation Council.
