Lowitja Institute Graduate Certificate scholarships are available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who would like to develop their skills and knowledge in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research. Past scholars have completed courses in research leadership, policy, governance and research management.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, an applicant must be:
An Australian citizen;
An Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person;
Eligible for the Graduate Certificate program as per the course’s eligibility requirements;
Enrolled or will be enrolled in a Graduate Certificate in governance, leadership or policy.

How to Apply
Applicants will be required to provide:
– Confirmation of Aboriginality or Torres Strait Islander descent. This must include the common seal and signed by the chairperson of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Land Council, or an incorporated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisation, in whose area the person lives or have previously lived.
– proof of additional funding or scholarships they are receipt of in relation to the chosen course (if relevant).
– a letter of support from either their employer or an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community member making brief comments against the selection criteria.

Further Information
The Lowitja Institute will cover the cost of an approved Graduate Certificate course up to the amount of $15,000.
