Indigenous and Non-Western Mathematics : Research Scholarship

An ARC funded research scholarship is available with the Mathematics Without Borders research group, within the Mathematical Sciences Institute at the Australian National University. 

The successful applicant/s will undertake research on non-Western and Indigenous mathematical knowledge and its transmission. Some fieldwork and archival work may be involved. 

For a full-time PhD, MPhil, or Masters by Research program the scholarship stipend is $ 38,154 per year, for up to 3.5 years.

 

As appropriate, scholarships also may be offered to undergraduate students to undertake an aligned short research project at Honours level or within a PhB program. The scholarship at postgraduate level may be available to an international student who also qualifies for a Tuition Fee Scholarship.
