Indigenous Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship
The Commonwealth of Australia provides funds under the Indigenous Student Success Program to improve higher education access, encourage Indigenous people to undertake an undergraduate course or an approved postgraduate course at The University of Western Australia and increase higher education participation and success for Indigenous people.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, an applicant must:
Be a domestic student;
Be an Australian Indigenous person;
Be from a regional or remote area of Australia;
Be experiencing financial hardship;
Have not completed the requirements of a course or study regarded by the University to be equivalent to or higher than an Australian bachelor’s award, unless such award is a prerequisite of the current undergraduate course of study;
Not be in receipt of an Indigenous CAS from another provider or have received an Indigenous CAS in previous years for the maximum duration of eight semesters;
Have applied for admission and/or received an offer of a place, or be enrolled in:
(i) an undergraduate course;
(ii) a graduate diploma;
(iii) an approved postgraduate course.

Applications are called for by Coursework Scholarships and Prizes and must be submitted by the advertised closing date.

Academic achievement: determined by the applicant’s Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (‘ATAR’) or equivalent ATAR as determined by the University.
Educational disadvantage: includes, but is not limited to, distance, economic disadvantage, cultural differences, disability or ongoing medical conditions, or responsibility for the care of children, the ill or the elderly. A medical practitioner’s report is required to support disability or ongoing medical conditions.
