Eligibility Criteria

The JCU Library – SAGE Publishing Asia Pacific Grant for Indigenous HDR Students will be open to competition among candidates who:
Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander; and
Are enrolled in a JCU Higher Degree Research program; and
Are enrolled at a JCU Australian Tropical Campus (Townsville, Cairns or Online).

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted on the official online application form and be received no later than the advertised close date.
Applicants must submit with the official form, where appropriate:
A reference from your research supervisor attesting to the character of the candidate;
A written statement which addresses:
1. A brief description of research (max 200 words) including why the project is important and necessary, what impact the project will have on target demographics;
2. How the funds would be used and how this would help progress their research; and
3. If you are ready to publish your research, a brief proposal on the article content, which SAGE Journal title you would target for publication.

The Selection Criteria is:
The character of the candidate for the award; and;
The quality of the written statement; and;
Any other criteria that the Selection Committee deems appropriate, including whether the candidate has, or will receive any other scholarship assistance during their studies.
