The Fiona Lavelle and Tinesh Tamilkodi Scholarships

The Fiona Lavelle and Tinesh Tamilkodi Memorial Scholarship is generously supported by St John WA. One scholarship valued at $20,000 will be open to applications from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students undertaking an eligible health sciences degree.
This scholarship reflect Fiona’s passion for lifelong learning and supporting the next generation of St John WA team members and as a living testament to the spirit and unwavering commitment demonstrated by Tinesh throughout his service to humanity as a member of the St John WA team.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this Scholarship, you must:
– be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent;
– be enrolled full-time in an eligible course;
– have and maintain a course progression status of GREEN;
– not be receipt of another scholarship valued over $5000 and;
– be enrolled in one of the following courses:
  • Bachelor of Biomedical Science;
  • Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Bioscience);
  • Bachelor of Health Science;
  • Bachelor of Science (Paramedical Science);
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing Studies);
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or;
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing)/Bachelor of Science (Midwifery).

You will need to provide a personal statement of no more than 500 words addressing the following:
– Demonstrate your drive and commitment to establishing a career in your chosen area of study;
– Describe your cultural connection to Country and community and;
– How will the Scholarship assist you in addressing difficulties such as barriers to education, financial hardship or other personal difficulty?
