Eligibility Criteria

University of Sydney Indigenous Entry Scholarships are awarded to recipients who:
Are of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. Indigenous identity is subject to verification by The Indigenous Australian Student Support Service at the University of Sydney;
Apply to the University through UAC and enrol in a University undergraduate degree or combined degree;
Complete the NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or a University approved equivalent secondary school examination in the year of application and achieve an ATAR of at least 85; and
Commence their studies at the University in the year immediately following their HSC or equivalent.

No application is required, as all eligible students will be automatically considered.

The scholarship recipient must enrol full-time in the agreed program during the tenure of their scholarship. Recipients may hold the scholarship part-time due to extenuating circumstances such as a medical condition which limits the student’s capacity to undertake full-time study. An application for a part-time scholarship must be submitted to the Scholarships Office for consideration.

To continue receipt of the Scholarship, a Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester minimum is required.
