Western Power Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship

This Scholarship supports Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students undertaking either an Undergraduate Degree, in either second year or higher, or a Postgraduate course in the eligible courses listed on the ECU website.
 
The successful applicant will receive $5000 (prorated for part time) per semester for the duration of their course, for up to 3 years. You will be eligible for work placements and other relevant support offered by Western Power.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
– be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent;
– be enrolled in an eligible Undergraduate degree having completed a minimum of 120 credit points OR be enrolled in an eligible Postgraduate degree;
– have and maintain an academic progression status of GREEN;
– be enrolled and remain enrolled in a minimum of 30 credit points (part time will be paid pro rata);
– reside in WA for the duration of the degree;
– agree to consider completion of at least one period of vacation employment at Western Power and;
– not be in receipt of another scholarship valued at $5000 or over per year.

You will need to submit a personal statement of no more than 500 words responding to the question:
“What do you see yourself doing after completion of your university degree? How do you balance your studies with other commitments in your life?”
 
You will be assessed on the content of your Personal Statement and your WAM.
