LEWW Scholar Profile – Jessie Browne

Jessie Browne was part of something big in 2021! The Lorna Earl and William Woodberry (LEWW) 2020 Scholar helped to administer COVID-19 vaccinations during a recent placement as part of her Doctor of Medicine at Western Sydney University. “Last semester I completed my GP placement, where I worked in a family GP clinic alongside other doctors for five weeks. This was by far my favourite placement of the year, and I am almost certain that I want to specialise in GP once I graduate. During my GP placement I was able to help with administering COVID vaccinations and we were doing around 200 jabs in one morning. It was really cool to be a part of something so big.

Jessie reflects that “it is thanks to the amazing LEWW scholarship that I can study my dream degree at university with no financial stresses and I am so grateful for this opportunity.”

The LEWW Scholarships are administered and delivered by Aurora. We are proud to partner with the LEWW Scholarship sub-fund of the Good2Give Community fund to deliever these scholarships to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in NSW based universities. Click here to read more about the LEWW Scholarships.
