The following definition of ""Indigenous organisation"" is in line with ORIC’s, Reconciliation Australia’s and IBA’s definitions.
An Indigenous organisation is defined as an organisation that is majority owned and controlled by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons. This is determined by identifying the Board members and company members as listed on the company website. Often the organisation will explicitly identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander controlled. All Native Title Representative Bodies (NTRBs), Native Title Service Providers (NTSPs) and Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs) are included as Indigenous organisations.
