My internship with Just Reinvest NSW (JRNSW) was an incredibly rewarding experience where I got to expand my skills and knowledge with a unique dynamic and community-focused approach. As a Melbourne-based Law/Psychology student who had spent the majority of their degree in lockdowns, I jumped at the opportunity to complete an internship in NSW with such a rising driving force for community-led change in the NSW indigenous sector. My internship with JRNSW was based in Sydney but led me to Mt Druitt, Dubbo and Bourke where I got to create meaningful memories, improve my cultural awareness and grow both personally and professionally.
