Interns
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Applicants
Aurora prioritises supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and graduates to secure funded internships that are relevant to the candidate’s study or career aspirations. Indigenous interns will be provided with a weekly stipend of $900 (pro rata for part-time internships) and up to $3,800 (incl. GST) to cover the cost of travel and accommodation.
Eligibility
To be eligible to undertake a funded internship, the candidate must:
1.
Be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
2.
Be enrolled for study at a university or vocational institute (minimum Certificate IV) or have graduated from a degree at an Australian university
3.
Not currently be in receipt of funding through the Indigenous Cadetship Support (ICS) initiative (Note: Indigenous applicants currently receiving ICS funding can apply for a non-funded internship
4.
Have capacity to complete a four to six week full-time internship (or part-time equivalent)
5.
Have allowed six months to have passed before undertaking a second Commonwealth funded internship

Non-Indigenous Applicants
Eligibility
We offer a limited number of internship opportunities to non-Indigenous students and graduates. To be eligible to undertake an internship, the candidate must:
1.
Be enrolled for study at a university or have graduated from a degree at an Australian university
2.
Undertake an internship with an Indigenous sector organisation
3.
Self-fund living expenses, accommodation and travel costs
4.
Demonstrate an appropriate level of cultural competency
