Internships Leader (Identified Role)


About the role

This role is responsible for delivering the Internships and Mid-career programs in accordance with Aurora’s strategy and funding agreements.


Working with Aurora

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage promotional strategies with the goal of attracting high quality applicants with a focus on Indigenous applicants.
  • Engage with Australian universities, professional bodies and Host organisations working in the Indigenous sector Australia-wide.
  • Represent Aurora at Career Fairs and information sessions when required (including interstate travel)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and monitor the Internships and Mid-Career operational plan and budget.
  • Lead the end-to-end process for Internship and Mid-career placements and opportunities
  • Oversee the recruitment and onboarding of host organisations.
  • Lead the review and assessment of host organisation applications and agreements.
  • Act as the central point of contact and manage the relationship between Aurora and host organisations.
  • Support the Programs and Pathways Manager to design and implement opportunities for mid-career Indigenous professionals.
  • Engage with universities, professional bodies and host organisations working in the Indigenous sector.
  • Support with delivering program information and recruitment sessions (interstate travel maybe required from time to time).
  • Attend relevant external stakeholder events to promote or raise awareness of Aurora and the Pathways Programs.
  • Support the Program and Pathways Manager to ensure Internships and Mid-Career collateral are relevant and current.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of progress towards achieving program targets and success metrics.
  • Ensure Aurora’s CRM and Sharepoint systems are used to accurately record program, participant, and host information and data.

Selection Criteria

About you:

  • Passionate about supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people
  • Be a leader who prioritises purpose and people and is dedicated to achieving excellence, promoting well-being, and fostering personal and professional growth.
  • Experience working in education – in particular student and internship placements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, organisations, histories, and the strengths and issues facing Indigenous people in Australia in meeting their aspirations
  • Promote cultural, psychological, and child safety and encourage an inclusive and supportive environment.
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Dynamics
  • Experience using Microsoft suite of programs
