Andrew

I was successful in attaining one of these Scholarship funded internships which enambled me to work as part of the research team at Queensland South Native Title Services (QSNTS) in Brisbane. QSNTS is a Native Title Service Provider and provides native title services within southern, western and central Queensland. QSNTS supports Indigenous peoples throughout the various phases of a native title claim as well as provides support for groups in the post-native title space. My time at QSNTS was highly rewarding and interesting and I was lucky to be involved in a wide variety of tasks throughout my internship. This included assisting a researcher with an interview of an Indigenous elder, conducting numerous basic research and administrative tasks, to even staffing a stall at NAIDOC Day celebrations. I can’t speak highly enough of the Aurora Internship Program. Not only is it a unique learning opportunity but it is an excellent chance to get some hands-on experience, build your skill-set and refine your interests. It can help guide your career direction and your decisions around further study, allow you to meet amazing people and make valuable connections as well as introduce you to potential employers.
