Doing my internship at ALS was as rewarding as it was tough. The organisation is understaffed and under-funded. The work is confronting. You really have to hit the ground running. That said, it is so important for law students to have that exposure. As hard as it was, I value my experience working there and I would do it again in a heartbeat. My colleagues were lovely and I felt supported to do my best. The skills I learnt will carry me throughout my career.
