The internship connected me with knowledgeable and driven leaders on the forefront of repatriation of Indigenous Australian Heritage. I was fortunate enough to be a part of the return event of over 1,800 stone artefacts from The Israel Museum, Jerusalem. As well as fulfilling regular research tasks within the RoCH team, I had opportunities to learn from and engage with staff from other teams including education, policy, native title, and collections. I felt greatly supported by my team and was made to feel safe in expressing my opinions. It was rewarding to feel valued by my team and contributing to the journey towards Indigenous advancement and the protection of cultural heritage.
