As a recent Psychology graduate, the internship was my first foray into the professional world and the Indigenous sector. As an Aboriginal woman the opportunity to work for community has been a long-standing professional and personal goal. Throughout my internship, I was given the opportunity to assist JR NSW across many areas of their work with the Moree community. The support and guidance from the Moree and Sydney JR NSW teams helped make this an invaluable experience. It increased my confidence to work in the Indigenous sector and has allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of what it is to truly work for and be led by community.
