The internship with AGMP was a great experience that involved working and living in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) for 4 weeks. Throughout this time, I met new people and understood the importance of building government capacities within Aboriginal organisations. Some of the tasks involved were attending board meetings, discussing roles and objectives of AGMP, creating and designing certificates and Prezi presentations, creating a research audit and writing an analysis report on education polices within the NT. The enthusiasm, dedication and passion from the AGMP team truly shines in all that they set out to accomplish, they made settling into Alice a breeze. During the end of the internship, I was lucky enough to adventure out to Tjoritja and Namatjira along the ranges and saw many waterfalls, other places visited were the 25th Beanie Festival, Todd Mall Markets, Araulen Arts Centre. This internship experience with AGMP was a great insight into Aboriginal culture and taught me new skills in relation to Aboriginal governance and management strategies.
