The internship was as opportunity for me to experience a grassroots level approach to decolonial community work. It was a privilege to work on the Our Voice program and be trusted and included by children and young people that were navigating such impactful experiences. My team at Save weregreat mentors who took the time to include me in program preparation and delivery and share their experiences working within the NGO industry. I not only gained valuable experience as a youth worker but was inspired to explore a career path I had seldom thought of before.
