Interning at the Northern Land Council, I completed both front-end transactional and back-end litigious legal work. I assisted in drafting leases and other documents for consultation with Traditional Owners. At the same time, I summarised historic exploration and mining agreements for use as reference material in a current High Court compensation determination. I made great friends with my fellow Land Council interns and connected with other legal interns – both Aurora and otherwise – across Darwin in the month I have been here.
