School Partnerships & Engagement Lead


About the role

This is a newly created role is designed to support the Senior Manager of Aurora’s High School Program to implement a stakeholder strategy and manage effective relationships with schools, students, parents/carers, community services, and cultural leaders within the High School Program.

What does success look like in this role?

  • Student engagement and attendance rate of 80% or higher
  • Student recruitment and onboarding targets are met
  • Sustained retention and engagement of partner schools
  • Re-engagement strategies for disengaged and/or complex needs participants are implemented promptly and effectively.
  • Reduction in the number of students with sustained non-attendance (e.g. missing 2 or more consecutive engagements)
  • Positive feedback from students, parents/carers and schools
  • Documentation is kept up to date and accurate

Selection criteria

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience working in or alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in culturally safe and respectful ways
  • Experience supporting disengaged young people through case management, wellbeing planning, or student support frameworks
  • Proven track record in school, family, or community engagement roles
  • Strong understanding of culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Clear and adaptable communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail with the ability to track actions, timelines, and follow-ups
  • Ability to work independently and proactively while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Adaptable and solutions-oriented mindset, with a calm and confident approach under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and CRM systems such as Dynamics
  • Background in education, youth work, social work, or a related discipline (Desirable)
  • Experience working in complex stakeholder environments with competing priorities (Desirable)
  • Strong facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution capabilities (Desirable)
  • Experience planning or contributing to school engagement events, cultural forums, or student recruitment activities (Desirable)
