About the role
This is a newly created role is designed to support the Senior Manager of Aurora’s High School Program to implement a stakeholder strategy and manage effective relationships with schools, students, parents/carers, community services, and cultural leaders within the High School Program.
What does success look like in this role?
- Student engagement and attendance rate of 80% or higher
- Student recruitment and onboarding targets are met
- Sustained retention and engagement of partner schools
- Re-engagement strategies for disengaged and/or complex needs participants are implemented promptly and effectively.
- Reduction in the number of students with sustained non-attendance (e.g. missing 2 or more consecutive engagements)
- Positive feedback from students, parents/carers and schools
- Documentation is kept up to date and accurate

Selection criteria
Experience
- Demonstrated experience working in or alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in culturally safe and respectful ways
- Experience supporting disengaged young people through case management, wellbeing planning, or student support frameworks
- Proven track record in school, family, or community engagement roles
- Strong understanding of culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholder groups
- Clear and adaptable communication skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail with the ability to track actions, timelines, and follow-ups
- Ability to work independently and proactively while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Adaptable and solutions-oriented mindset, with a calm and confident approach under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and CRM systems such as Dynamics
- Background in education, youth work, social work, or a related discipline (Desirable)
- Experience working in complex stakeholder environments with competing priorities (Desirable)
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution capabilities (Desirable)
- Experience planning or contributing to school engagement events, cultural forums, or student recruitment activities (Desirable)
